“In my paintings I accumulate the energy of sound joint with colour” – Sergei Kovalsky. This exhibition is an opportunity to have a break from daily rush, take a gulp of intellectual, aesthetic fresh air and also to take your time to think. Kovalsky’s musical works not only represent his own vision of how sound and image are connected, but also express his immense respect towards the greatest musicians and composers of 20th and 21st centuries. Sergei Kovalsky sees the sound as the basis of human perception of the world. The connection between sound and coloured image is of great importance for the artist: “In the beginning there was sound, a man heard his own heartbeat, his blood rushing through his veins. Only then was there the word. That’s why the sound is essential”.
